Wander Through My Week #5

Another week has come and gone. It’s not been an overly exciting week but I thought I would let you know what I’ve been up to and tell you about the things that have made me smile in the past week. Hope you’ve all had a great week.

Pre Transplant Party

I decided this week to turn the whole transplant situation on its head and I’m throwing a little pre-transplant party! I’m inviting bloggers I love who have each helped me in their own small way to celebrate the fact that as each day ends, I’m one step closer to my journey being over. Surely this is a reason to celebrate? Thanks to one incredible donor (and one on the way) I’m on the road to recovery.  I’m hoping that by sitting down and getting to know me better, it encourages these awesome bloggers to write a post about cornea donation. So yes, it’s time for a party!

My little pre transplant party is going to have everything a birthday party would: party hats, goody bags, balloons, food, cocktails and oh…cake! I’ve never let my condition defeat me and I’ve done it once, I can do it again. My donors have given me the most amazing opportunity to beat this condition and I owe it to them (and to myself) to make sure I do.

Blog, Blog, Blog

I’ve been putting a lot more effort into my blog, publishing posts that I’m really proud of. If you’re a blogger, you’ll know how much time you spend working on posts before they even reach the proof reading stage.

I published The Day A Pigeon Came To My Rescue, a post unlike any other on my blog. I was a little nervous as it went live, but I’ve had such amazing feedback it’s really boosted my confidence. If you fancy reading about my disastrous first date involving a pigeon, feel free to click on the above link.

If you have a blog, I’d love you to comment below linking me to a post you are really proud of writing – I’d love to read it.  I love the blogging community and we should definitely all support each other.

Am I Getting Old?

The sun is finally shining in Glasgow (trust me, that never happens) and whilst it’s been an opportunity to get out and enjoy some sunshine, I’m left questioning whether age is finally starting to catch up with me.

I remember as a child I couldn’t wait for the sun to come out to get out on my bike or take my teddies into the garden for a tea party. Although I no longer have teddies (even if I did, I’ve no desire to throw them a picnic), I now get that same rush of excitement thinking about putting washing on the line. Although I’ve enjoyed some nice walks and spending time with Mr Blues, I think I got more excited about putting the washing machine on. Oh dear!

And that’s pretty much what’s been happening in the last week. Nothing that exciting, but I’m really looking forward to my pre transplant party in the coming weeks. Now that my washing is all up to date, maybe I need to enjoy more of the sunshine! Hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.

What were you up to last week? Remember to share the blog post you’re most proud of writing.

You are most definitely not the only one who gets excited about the sunshine because it means catching up on washing! I had such a backlog from Winter. I’m starting to catch up with it, but I’m always excited by a sunny day and the possibility of drying my washing! I think a pre-transplant party sounds AMAZING! And I want to pick your brains, actually, because I’d really like to write a post about cornea donation, but I am definitely going to need your help and guidance with that! I’m so proud of you, I hope you know that. xx

I’m in spain currently and enjoying washing because it’s drying in a few hours outside…. Now if the weather back in the UK was like this I would never have a laundry pile
