How is everyone? I’ve been busy with doctors appointments, hospital visits and event organising. But I did find a time for tea, scones and a bit of a pamper! This a wander through my past week…
Dogs That Dine
Hahaha my life is literally all about planning this event! If you don’t already know, I’ve organised an event for bloggers and dog lovers to raise money for Dogs Trust Glasgow. The event is a little different because dogs are coming too! Basically, we are all going to have some food, drink, get lots of doggy cuddles and make the most of the dog photobooth!
This is the first event I’ve ever arranged and I’m excited, but really stressed. I’ve put a lot of work into organising this event (raffle prizes, goody bags etc) but I know it’s all worth it. And I can’t wait to meet al the dogs that are coming! I’ve saw some photos and some of them are BEYOND CUTE!
There is only a limited amount of tickets left (yay!) and I really hope the event sells out. Â I’m keen to raise as much money for the centre as I possibly can. Â For more information, read my Dogs That Dine post.
Belles of the Basement
Yesterday, I attended Belles of the Basement event held in the Malmaison Hotel after I was lucky enough to win a ticket thanks to Yelp . I was definitely in the mood to get rid of some Sunday Blues and enjoy a little pamper. Then I did the most stupid thing: I wore new shoes.
And no, not high heels. I’m talking about simple black slip on plimsolls  High heels and I have never got on well but I’ve always had a good relationship with flats…UNTIL NOW! As time went on, my feet were in agony and I was seriously struggling to walk. The glass of fizz helped (as did the yummy nibbles) but I was ready for a serious pamper.
There were various companies there from Benefit to Vidall Sassoon and although it was fun, it wasn’t as ‘pampering’ as I thought it would have been. Instead, it seemed more like a bad sales pitch from some and others just weren’t as interested in talking about their products which is unfortunate when you’re genuinely interested.
In saying that, I did learn a lot and I got my eyebrows waxed and tinted from Benefit (£19.50). I now LOVE my eyebrows! I had always put off getting my eyebrows done because they are so sparse and I didn’t want to end up with two black lines in place of my brows. I love them though, they look so natural and I’m really chuffed! Worth the foot pain! And by the time I got home there was blood running down my ankles. Lovely.
The Mad Platter
Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourite Disney movies (although in my opinion, the ending is awful!) and when I saw The Mad Platter en route to one of my many hospital visits, I couldn’t wait to pop in for lunch.
I LOVE THE DECOR! It’s an eccentric mismatch of cute, quirky items that work so well together (some of them are Alice in Wonderland themed, but not all). I had Eggs Benedict and then the yummiest fruit scone. As a tea lover, the highlight was the tea (or should I say, the tea presentation). I settled for Earl Grey (which is very unlike me) but I loved the tea pot and the cutest milk jug I have ever seen!
