Wander Through My Festive Weeks

It’s been so long since I’ve written one of these posts but they are back! Every Sunday, I’ll be giving a kind of summary of my week (the good, the bad and the ugly!) which I really like doing as it acts like a diary for me and is something I can look back on. It’s been a fun week(ish – I’ve added a few days on since it was Christmas & New Year!). I’ve really loved Christmas this year and I’m going to do a separate post showing you the amazing teas/tea accessories that I was so lucky to get this year. I think my Tea of the Month posts are about to get very interesting indeed…

Boxing Day Lush Haul (and then I went back on the 27th…)

Boxing Day for me is all about Lush and I’m on a mission: to get as many of the Christmas items that I love into my basket! The weather was awful (not sure what I was expecting) when I woke up at half 7 so I decided to wait until the 9am sale started online; both my ipad and laptop were at the ready! Although it didn’t start at 9am and the page was exactly the same – GRR! I threw on my coat, grabbed my bag and keys. Destination: Lush!

I got there just after half 9 and it was INSANE! I could barely move and the queue had doubled around the entire store. I managed to get a couple of the little gift sets that I wanted and then stocked up on so many bath bombs and bubble bars! Then I braved the queue to the till which I stood in for about 45 minutes – crazy! I visited a smaller Lush store the next day and picked up two bottles of Rose Jam which is by far my favourite shower gel just now. It smells of rose (obviously) but it’s not too overpowering and yep, I’m beyond happy with my purchases.

And my room literally smells like a Lush shop now – another benefit of having an en suite!

Please, No More Sweets!!

I am sick of looking at sweets and my body is craving yummy green veggies – it needs a bit of a rest after the festive season. I hate to even think about how many Quality Street and Ferrero Rocher have passed my lips and somehow telling myself ‘It’s Christmas!‘ is meant to make everything okay. I still have tubs of sweets, boxes of biscuits and full cakes left! Why?! Who the hell did I think I was feeding?! Some of them were gifts which I will enjoy, but definitely with other people because honestly, I can’t take any more! Pass me the broccoli!

My Challenge for January

In my last post, My 12 Monthly Challenges, I mentioned the fact that making New Years Resolutions don’t really work for me at all and I never stick to them for long. In the post, I mention the fact I have set myself 12 challenges for 2016 and January’s is no tv, movies or Youtube; so far so good! I’ve been listening to podcasts (Serial is amazing, everyone should listen to it), reading more and writing letters I have been meaning to for some time.
I’m not saying it is easy (a Saturday night in not having the TV on isn’t exactly a world of fun) but I am starting to realise how much I have a TV on as a force of habit and just for background noise that I don’t really pay that much attention to weirdly enough. I do miss Youtube though and I still have a long way to go. Oh dear..
I really want to know what you’ve been up over Christmas & New Year! Please leave a comment below or tweet me @thingsarahloves. Hope you all have a wonderful 2016!!

The idea of monthly challenges is actually quite good. I might brainstorm some ideas for myself for this year! You got so much in the boxing day sale, that's crazy!

Haha yeah the sale was a bit crazy but I save for it all year and as Lush say, it is there only sale of the year so better to make the most of it! I've really enjoyed this monthly challenge although at times it has been difficult, I won't lie. I really like the concept and it will be great at the end of the year to look back on each challenge before I write 12 new ones!

Oooo I haven't used a Twilight bomb yet. I don't know why but I've just never picked one up! What does it smell of? Really exciting that you are blogging books – I'll be coming to you for advice when I pick out my monthly challenge that is book related!

      Hi Anne,

Thanks so much for your comment. The bath bombs are lovely and make my bathroom smell amazing which is an added bonus. Did you create monthly challenges? Would love to know how you are getting on!

I think you're so brave! Going a month without TV. I know I couldn't…But I also do realise that I do the same thing – put the TV on in the background etc. And I watch TV more than I would like to. I am going to try to make a conscious effort to spend less time watching the box more time reading, writing, blogging, etc! ๐Ÿ˜€ Still insanely jealous that you got so much in the Lush sale! I only got one Christmas bath bomb and now I've got to wait another year?! Darn. Lol. I'll know next year though. Although I won't be able to get in-store I'll definitely be on the laptop straight away on Boxing Day morning making an online order in the sales! Great post hun! x http://www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

      Hey lovely!

Awww thanks and sorry I made you so jealous! Online I think it was crazy this year with people spending hours trying to get on the site and then hours checking out their order – nightmare! And thanks so much for your support during my challenges – I need as much support as I can get!
