Tremor by Ryan Mark

‘If your world was falling apart, how far would you go to save it?’

This one sentence grabbed my attention and I couldn’t wait to delve head first into Ryan Mark’s Tremor (which is part of The Tremor Cycle). During the Fossil War, William lost his father and the world completely changed forever; many cities and governments no longer in existence. For those who were lucky enough (or unlucky as the case may be) to survive, there are now unexpected, dangerous tremors taking place. which can’t be explained. Terrafall are the new governing body but so many people are randomly going missing. When someone very close to William vanishes, he decides to take matters into his own hands, hoping to discover what exactly has happened to the many people who have literally disappeared without a trace.
Ryan Mark should be incredibly proud. If you are looking for a page turner as you enjoy relaxing on a sun lounger this summer, this should be at the top of your list! This book is full of so many unexpected twists and turns that I became engrossed in every page, desperate for answers. I felt like I was accompanying William on his journey and I was just as invested in the outcome.
The characters are well developed, many of whom you form an emotional bond with in one way or another, in this familiar yet bizarre world they inhabit.  But the scary reality is that in many ways, this could easily be the world we live in today. It’s a terrifying thought, but this actually made me enjoy the book even more.
Ryan Mark was kind enough to send me this book free of charge to review and I will openly state that I am not a blogger who looks for the next freebie (especially when it is a book and takes time to read!) but I was interested in Tremor from the get go, and I am so thankful to Ryan for sending me a copy. I would recommend this book to all adults, young and old! I have already been telling my friends about it because when a book takes me literally days to finish, that says a lot about the author.
At the end of reading a good book, I get this warm, satisfied feeling inside and that is when I really know I have enjoyed it. I am pleased to say that Tremor did exactly that. I am so glad that this is a part of a trilogy and I will definitely be reading them all! Writing any book is an incredible achievement, but one as good as this deserves special recognition.
