Tea of the Month – September

Hey everyone!

How are we all? Can you believe that it is finally October?! That’s insane! I’m super excited though because I love Halloween and….darker nights are upon us! YES!! I might be weird but I personally love the evenings getting darker earlier because it literally just makes me want to snuggle up in a blanket with a hot cup of tea and read a book – my idea of heaven! So over the coming months I will be drinking even more tea than I normally do which makes me a rather happy bunny indeed! And in the spirit of all things tea, it’s time for September’s Tea of the Month!

This was a hard one for me because if I’m honest I’ve been drinking a lot of both May and June’s Tea of the Month because they taste that bloody good. The idea of living without Twinings Buttermint Tea now scares me a little, haha! Nevertheless, there has been one particular tea that has sneaked it’s way into my cup when the other two weren’t looking (Am I talking about teabags as if they are alive??!! I’m so weird) and I’m glad it did!

It’s another Twinings love this month! When I spotted their Cranberry & Raspberry (20 bags, £1.49) tea I thought I would give it a go. To be honest, I’m not sure why because I really don’t like cranberries (they just remind me of urine infections!!) but I love raspberries and none of the teas I have featured so far in my ‘Tea of the Month’ posts have been fruity, so I thought it would be fun to try something outside of my tea comfort zone because I really don’t like cranberries, haha!

I love the pink and red shades on the box but for some reason, I really struggled to open it and it ended up torn which is annoying. Remember May’s Tea of the Month and how much I loved the packaging? Well this box was a little bit of a disaster. It still holds the tea bags perfectly fine and I’ve managed to not open the box fully and created a little gap that I can take the tea bags out. This particular tea doesn’t come in individual envelopes (I really need to look into this and find out why some do and some don’t! Anyone know?!!) but that doesn’t bother because to be honest, although I love this tea it’s not one of those teas I couldn’t live without when I’m travelling!

How amazing is the colour of this tea?! I love it! You are recommended to leave the tea bag brewing for 3-4 minutes which to be honest, I never do because this tea is insanely fruity! The first thing that hits you is the sharpness of the cranberries but the sweetness from the raspberries makes it taste delicious! I love this tea in the late afternoon/early evening when I stand in my kitchen and make lists, read magazines or open my mail (praying it’s not bills, haha!). Am I the only person that does that?! I like standing in my kitchen eating my meals too sometimes!

This is definitely a great tea for the months ahead (weirdly, I am obsessed with cranberry sauce on Christmas Day) and I’ll be making many cups of this tea as I snuggle up to watch Christmas movies! Home Alone 2 anyone?!!

What teas have you been loving lately? Have you tried this tea from Twinings? Let me know in the comments below or you can tweet me @thingsarahloves.

Ooh I have this – not my favourite though, because it's so sour! My favourite is definitely anything chai, or green tea 🙂 I love supermarkets when they have offers though, bulk buying tea!

I didn't find it that sour to be honest. I love green tea – could not live without it!
