Tea of the Month – May

I love drinking teas and when I decided to create a blog, I knew instantly that I was going to include a Tea of the Month blog post. At the end of each and every month I am going to write a post about my favourite tea of that month (and any cute, fun tea accessories/china that I might find along the way!). I am really looking forward to finding new tea companies and drinking some delicious teas!

Life has been a bit stressful this month with family dramas, hospital appointments and a traumatic visit to the dentist! Every night I try and read a book for a while to help me drift off but there have been some nights reading alone hasn’t sent me to the land of nod. So when I saw Twinings Soothing Camomile & Honey tea in my local Tesco, I couldn’t get it in my basket quickly enough. The tea is naturally caffeine free and made with all natural ingredients.

I like the convenience of the packaging. As a huge tea lover, nothing annoys me more than boxes that don’t close properly and cause my teabags to spill out all over the place. With Twinings teas I don’t have that problem. The little flap on the insides ensures the box closes securely. There are 20 tea bags per box.
Two words stood out to me: Soothing and Honey. I love honey (I have porridge and fresh fruit drizzled with honey most mornings) and If you adore honey as much as I do, you will not be disappointed. Twinings only use camomile pollen heads (as they are the sweetest part of the plant) and have added a little honey and vanilla to this tea blend. I can really taste the honey and can’t personally taste the vanilla which for me, is a good thing.
Twinings recommend brewing this tea for about 2-3 minutes or leaving the teabag in a little bit longer if you prefer a stronger taste. I don’t actually remove the  tea bag from my mug because I love this tea so much! It makes me feel so relaxed and any worries I have just seem to slip away (for a while at least!)

I've been loving Whittard's 'Calm' recently, which is made from chamomile, marshmallow and fennel. I've always had problems sleeping, but a big mug of this and I'm ready to settle down for the night. I also really like the Twinings Spiced Apple and Chamomile, but I tend to prefer that in the colder months.

Thanks! I've put this on my list of teas to try! Don't think I've ever had marshmallow in a tea before 🙂 x

      Hi Tarnya,

Thanks for commenting! I'm not a fan of Bakewell Tart but that does sound like it could be interesting in tea form. Would love to know what you think when you try them!

A fellow tea lover! I tend to leave the flavoured teas until the afternoon and start my day with plain old green tea. Have you tried Teapigs Liquorice & Peppermint Tea? It's AMAZING 🙂
