Product Empties #1

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I’m really excited to be doing my first Product Empties because these are the kind of youtube videos and blog posts that I love! I’ve been collecting mine for a while (which is new for me, sure everyone thinks I’m crazy) and thought now I have a mixed little bundle, it would be a good idea to write this blog post and give my final thoughts on each of these products since I have used them all up. One is a permanent staple in my skincare routine, some I would buy again and then there’s the other one..

Soap & Glory ‘Scrub of Your Life’ (Boots, 200ml, £7.00) – I’ve used all of this up because what is not to love about Soap & Glory’s Original Pink Fragrance? It smells so nice. As a scrub, this wasn’t really for me so I used it more as a shower gel. There weren’t enough beads and it had more of a gel texture, foaming up as I used it. For sensitive skin (or those using a body scrub for the first time) I would definitely recommend this but it’s not something I would purchase again. I much prefer industrial strength style scrubs, haha!

Biotherm Aquasource Hydrating Gel – I did a full blog post on Biotherm Aquasource Hydrating Gel so I won’t go into too much detail here! If you have dry, dehydrated skin like me this is definitely worth the investment. Amazing cooling sensation and I really liked it. A bit pricey, but lasts a long time.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel (Cult Beauty, £28.00) – Ah I could not live without this product! I’m not going to go into a lot of detail (it deserves a post all of it’s own) but I love this cleansing gel. Definite staple in my skincare routine.

Garnier Mineral InvisiCool Deodorant (Sainsburys, 50ml, £1.00) – I went through a stage where I wasn’t the biggest of fan of roll on deodorants but I’m really impressed with this one (it was only £1.00 – BARGAIN!). It smells so fresh, doesn’t leave white marks and does the job! I would purchase this again but as long as a deodorant works, I’m happy!

Imperial Leather Muscle Tonic Bath Cream (Imperial Leather, 500ml, £2.00) – Whenever my personal trainer pushes me that little bit harder (leaving me in agony the next day) or I feel a bit headachey and not my usual self, I’ve been running a bath and I’ve fallen in love with this bath cream. Good amount of bubbles and I love the warming saffron and hibiscus scent (it’s a gorgeous red colour too!). This is definitely one for autumn and winter – makes me feel all cosy!

And that’s my first Product Empties post! Have you tried any of these? What products have you recently used up? Let me know in the comments below or you can tweet me @thingsarahloves – always up for chatting!

I love all Soap and Glory products so much, but am not much of a fan of The Scrub of Your Life either. But I'm not a scrubs person! I bought a big box last year for £60 full of Soap and Glory products and it's still going! I love Imperial Leather shower gels, I just bought Marshmallow and Fruit Salad ones. But I've not tried their bubble bath. I'm definitely going to grab a bottle of this when I'm next out and about and give it a try! It sounds lovely 😀 xx

      Hey lovely!

Thanks for commenting! There is a Marshmallow one?!! I need to hunt this down (is it insanely sweet?). I love the Muscle Tonic Bath Cream so much and it's perfect for the coming months.

Great idea! It is definitely gentle enough to use on your face!

Never did I think I would be such a fan of the roll on again but it works so much better than any spray that I have used recently. I have wanted to use that Biotherm for some time now – will go over and read your blog post now 🙂

Aww thanks so much for your comment. The Biotherm Hydrating Gel is great – I really liked it! I know what you mean about roll on deodorants; just feels like the work a lot more effectively.

I love watching empties videos too, it's so bizarre. I always feel a sense of achievement when I finish a product as I buy way too much lol. I feel the same about the Soap & Glory scrub, it's not exfoliating enough but the scent is gorge.

      Hey Sarah,

I'm glad someone feels the same way I do about the scrub. I love the scent but other than that is it just a shower gel in my eyes! I'm obsessed with empties videos and I feel the same sense of achievement when I have finished something up.

I've been considering purchasing the Oskia cleansing gel for a while but it's quite pricey. Can I ask, how long does a bottle last for?

I've used a lot of the Soap and Glory scrubs, so I guess I must have used Scrub of Your Life at some point! I'm currently using Pulp Friction, which is pretty good and also has a gentle texture.

      Hi Holly,

It is quite pricey but I think it's really worth it. I use mine morning and evening and this bottle has lasted me about 16 weeks which I'm really impressed with. You just need a small amount of the gel and it turns into an oil when you apply it (it also smells amazing) and it's been a lifesaver for my skin!

If you try it, please let me know how you get on.

I have to use roll on deodorants due to asthma and I have tried the Garnier one with a pink lid, I cannot remember the name of it, anyway I hated it! Might try the one you used, see if it is any better! I am exactly the same with scrubs, I want it to really work at my skin! I was going to buy the S&G one but I know to avoid that one! Great post xx

      Hey lovely!

Was it the scent you hated? I loved this one because it just smelled so fresh. You sound exactly like me when it comes to shopping for body scrubs so I would avoid this one!

I love the muscle soak bath cream I use it when I feel extra rubbish too!

      Hi Alice,

Thanks for your comment. I love the muscle soak bath cream – it is so lovely!

I'm considering in investing in some Oskia products – would you really recommend them?

    • October 7th, 2015 / 6:36 pm

      Hey lovely!

YES!! I rate them so highly! I'm going to be doing some reviews on my blog soon but the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is one of my holy grails!
