L’Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation

Last month I did a little haul post (click here) and one of the items I picked up is a foundation I have been wanting to try for some time: the L’Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation. I got the shade Vanilla which is actually a really good match for my skin tone, so I’m pleased about that! This foundation comes in 6 different shades which is a decent range (as always from L’Oreal) and is on sale from Boots at £7.99. Here’s how I got on…

First of all, I really like the packaging! Being a tube, this is travel friendly and I just think it looks really attractive! That might sound strange but comparing it to say a glass foundation bottle, I think this looks a lot more appealing. What I don’t like is to see a product go down as I use it, especially foundation. I just think it looks really grubby (call me crazy!) and not as pretty sitting on my dressing table or in my bathroom. I realise this makes me sound mental! I think every product should have a little see through strip to check on usage but that’s it. Anyway, I’m sidetracking – back to the foundation!

I like the consistency as it’s not too creamy, not too watery and in my opinion, L’Oreal have found the perfect balance! I’ve been applying this using either my Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush or my Beauty Blender and both have done an amazing job. This foundation is really blendable and easy to work with; you have a good amount of time to blend it in before it sets in place which is always a plus!

L’Oreal describe this foundation as being ‘lightweight, non cakey, 24H matte perfection‘ and to be honest, that pretty much sums up how good this foundation is. It is so lightweight that I honestly feel like I’m not even wearing foundation at all and my skin can still breathe! I have really dry skin and it didn’t cling to dry patches like some foundations can! Not cakey in the slightest and as for providing ’24H matte perfection’, I guess it sort of does! The finish is definitely matte so if you are looking for a really dewy finish, I would steer clear of this one! I did notice that my t-zone was not as shiny throughout the day and although I used a little bit of powder, shine was kept at bay mainly due to this foundation. Does it last 24H? Well…if you have been reading my blog you will know I hate these crazy claims! I’m not willing to wear it for 24 hours to find out!

What I will say though, is that the L’Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation does give great coverage that lasts from morning to night. I have a few blemishes and it covered them completely. If you suffer from redness, acne or any blemishes, I would recommend giving this a go! Each time that I have used this foundation, I have had to use very little concealer and I’m chuffed with that!

Overall, I think that this is a really good foundation with an attractive price tag! Is it worth the money? Absolutely.

Have you tried this foundation yet? What do you think? Will you be giving it a go? Let me know in the comments below or you can tweet me @thingsarahloves

Love this! I use bare minerals foundation, but while it is amazing at healing and letting my skin breathe, sometimes I want more of a proper coverage, especially if I am going out! Thank you for reviewing and recommending this! Love L'Oreal so will make a note of this foundation 🙂 xxxx

I've tried this and I love the coverage but I have mine in Porcelain and it's too dark – shocking lol. I've been mixing it with lighter foundations and it works really well. I like the packaging too, no spillages.

Loved the review! Do you think this would be good for people that don't have a lot of experience with foundation?

      Hey Liz!

Thanks for commenting! I would definitely recommend this! It is so easy to work it and doesn't make you feel like you are wearing make up. Just make sure you get the right match for you by testing a little on your face from a tester. Would love to inow how you get on and if you wanna chat about foundations more, feel free to email or tweet me!
