Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

I am not someone that ever joined the BB/CC cream bandwagon. To be honest, I just don’t get it and I never really pay much attention to them. However,a friend recommended the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream (30ml, £9.99) to me and I decided to give it a go. Here is how I got on…

Firstly, I want to talk give a brief product description before I dive right in and talk about my feelings about it. This is a colour correcting cream which contains three different pigments: apricot for anti fatigue, green to combat redness and white to tackle dark spots. As well as this, it claims to give 24 hour hydration and contains SPF 15. Seems to tick every single box! There are four shades currently available: Ivory, Light Beige, Rose Beige and Bronze.

I love the packaging. I see this as very much a spring/summer product and the tube is travel friendly which I really like (as opposed to bottles of foundation). I like the fact Bourjois have clearly identified the three pigments contained and their benefits on the tube. If a friend had not mentioned this to me, I would probably have bought is eventually when it caught my eye because it sounds too good to be true! I picked up shade 31 Ivory which I thought would be a good match for me.

I take a good few weeks to properly use any product before I write a review and the reason I do this is because first impressions aren’t enough to go on. I like reading reviews by other bloggers that have used a product over weeks – or even months if needed – before giving their full opinion. Am I alone here? Anyway, on this occasion I am glad I took the time to give this cream a proper go.

I will be honest and say that my first impression was not good. I didn’t feel like it covered up my redness that well. Maybe I didn’t use enough or maybe I was just having a bad day, but I wasn’t won over. As a result, the Bourjois CC Cream was placed in my foundation/concealer drawer and didn’t see the light of the day for quite some time.

A few weeks ago, I was deciding which base to use and I don’t know why, but this cream was calling out to me. I decided to give it a go, taking a pea sized amount on my hand and applying with my Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush and wow, this is a match made in heaven! The CC Cream blends in so well and I was really impressed with the results! I don’t know what the hell was going on when I first tried this (I must have been having a serious bad day) but I couldn’t believe how differently I felt second time around.

Since then, I have been reaching for my Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream most days (and even more so now with the warmer weather) and I’m officially in love. It has a bit of watery texture and isn’t too creamy which I like because I don’t like feeling like I am wearing make up. As for my redness, it does do the job really well but I still need a bit of concealer to ensure my redness is covered and my redness has died down in the past few weeks which is awesome! As well as this, it is long lasting and I can easily wear this from day to evening with excellent coverage. I am seriously impressed!

When I go to Lanzarote in a few weeks, this is coming with me for when I get ready for evenings out! For a CC Cream, this does a wonderful job and I have yet to be enticed by any others on the market. I love Boujois and I am huge fan of the Healthy Mix Serum but their 123 Perfect CC Cream is one of my summer essentials! I learned a valuable lesson from this: don’t right off a product too quickly as it may just surprise you!

I was using BB cream for a while b/c I'm really into foundation, etc. But BB cream gave me the slight coverage I needed and evened out my skin + with SPF50, it was great! Now I"m trying CC cream and so far I'm loving the lighter, dewier (but not oily looking) texture and still has SPF50. I just bought the Innisfree Wet Glow Cushion and I used the Biore BB cream. Don't know if you get that in the UK…..
