Biotherm Aquasource Hydrating Gel

There are two things you will learn about me very quickly:
1. I love to enter beauty competitions and 2. I have very dry, dehydrated skin.
My facial skincare regime is focused on hydration more than anything else.  So when I was lucky enough to win a 125ml
Biotherm Aquasource Hydrating Gel
from their Facebook competition at the end of
last year, I couldn’t wait to lather it all over my face.
Biotherm states that this gel has been made with Life Plankton Cellular Water and this allows the gel to act as a barrier on your skin, keeping in all that hydrating goodness. They claim it will keep your skin hydrated for a record breaking 48 hours.
First of all, let’s talk packaging. I love the little glass
jar and lid, it looks so elegant and right at home on my bathroom shelf. It may
not be ideal for travel but I can forgive this. The design on mine is limited
edition and it is lovely, but it does not make me love the packaging any more
or less.
Now onto the good stuff – the gel itself! I use this product
morning and night. On opening the tub, the first thing that hits me is the
smell. It is not a strong scent (and I can’t even tell you what it smells
like!) but it is so thirst quenching. A pea sized amount is enough for my face
& neck and it sinks into my skin so effortlessly. I don’t keep my jar in
the fridge but every single time I use it, it has the cold, cooling sensation
which my sensitive skin adores. It calms, hydrates and nourishes my skin. Tick, tick,
As for their claim that it hydrates the skin for 48 hours, I have no idea! I could never go 24, never mind 48, hours without hydrating my skin as it badly needs it. I’m personally not a fan of brands making these crazy long lasting claims even if they do work.
It does come with a hefty price tag (being sold from £38.00 through to £51.00) and some might say it is
not worth it when using a moisturiser as well. And to be honest, if I hadn’t won this I probably would have had this on My Wish List for months to come. But
I have been using my jar twice a day since January and by the end of May it
will be done. For me, that’s pretty good value for money! . Thanks Biotherm!

      Hi Jessica,

Aww thanks so much! My skin is the exact same as yours and I really like this stuff. Yeah it is a bit pricey, but when it has lasted as long as it has for me, it is worth the investment. Which moisturiser do you use? I am always looking for new ones!

      Sarah xx

This sounds like something that would work well after a long exfoliating and face mask. There is something about gels that are just so soothing. Great review 🙂
