Aussie Shower Smoothie

I really like Aussie haircare products (3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor is one of my faves) but a few weeks ago, I noticed that Aussie had released their own range of body washes. I picked up Aussie Shower Smoothie (250ml, £2.99) as it contains Macadamia Nut Oil. This oil is so so good for your skin and is known for being extremely nourishing. As I dry skin sufferer, I couldn’t wait to give this a go! Here’s what I think…

The packaging is the same as most of their haircare products and I really like the pop up lid – I hate faffing around in the shower, unscrewing tops and removing lids! Most products nowadays are fine but some hair treatments…don’t get me started!

I’m not sure what I was expecting this body wash to be like, but it really surprised me. I wasn’t expecting the light pink colour and the candy floss/bubblegum-esque fragrance. It isn’t overpowering (which is a good thing, because otherwise I would have hated this) but I don’t think  this scent is for everyone. I’m glad the scent didn’t linger on my skin throughout the day because I don’t really want to walk around smelling like the roll up bubblegum I used to buy with my friends. I like it, but I don’t love it.

What I really like though is the effect this body wash has on my skin – it makes my skin so soft! I still use a body butter/lotion/sorbet (I do after every bath or shower) but I did notice a difference to the feel of my skin and that is a huge plus for me! It also lathers up ridiculously well so this bottle is going to last me a long time. Definitely value for money!

Overall, I guess I have pretty mixed feelings about the Aussie Shower Smoothie. I adore how well it lathers up and how soft/smooth it makes my skin feel but I’m not head over heels about the scent. I keep it in my shower along with some other washes and occasionally, I reach for this as I think the scent would be too much for me to use every day! It has made me want to try others in the Aussie Body Wash range though and hopefully find a scent more suited to me that hopefully, my skin loves too.
